Really zucchini? Did you have to grow so fast??Enthusiastic growth is one thing but this is extreme. Three days’ of neglecting picking and this happens. Lots to make into pickle and relish tonight!

In the unusual microclimate on this little patch of earth, the two smallish elderflower trees have burst into flower all over. More cordial syrup perhaps? (I use it to sweeten and flavour homemade ice cream.)

And finally, finally the basil is coming into its own, enough for a batch of pesto. Add that to a huge bundle from our daughter’s garden, I’ll make loads tonight. I’ll freeze it of course, then there will be ample for the winter months.

The lemon tree and especially the lime are producing well, so there’s lots to be done. Very thankful for the air con!
