I do like a good cake tin, especially when purchased at an op shop for a tiny price.
I’ve wanted to make madeleines ever since I saw Elizabeth Godfrey make them on tv decades ago (now that lets on my age) – I admired her tremendously.
I managed to purchase one madeleine tin a few months ago and yesterday an identical one at another op shop. Who would’ve thought?
The little beehive tin is not mine, I’m “babysitting” it for a friend who said I could test run it while they are away on holiday.
Both were filled with their respective batters and are now baked.
Incidentally, the beehive tin’s instruction sheet said they should be greased with cooking oil spray that contains flour. ???
Didn’t have one so made a substitute – one part plain flour, one part oil and one part melted butter (a tip I read somewhere a while ago). You brush it on. It really worked.
