Bread Baking Day

Although the cooking school is officially closed, it doesn’t mean its wonderful kitchen space goes to waste.

For instance last weekend was a full day of pizza baking for friends, family and neighbours to welcome Dave and Tamar back from Tamar’s book tour of Europe, and then a couple of weeks helping in Mongolia.

They now will settle on their property here in Molesworth.

Today though – a bread baking session. From simple everyday bread, to jaffa buns, lemon curd buns, custard buns with passionfruit glaze, cream buns filled with fresh raspberry jam and cream, Turkish breads baked with a filling of spinach and feta, pizza pockets, focaccia, loaves of fruit bread, ham and cheese scrolls, vegemite and cheese scrolls, whole grain bread and more.

The best of fun with wonderful friends Michael and Roberto joining us.

For good measure a keg of beer was put on to brew at the end of bread baking.

Nothing like baking with friends.

    Hi Sally
Can you tell me why the kitchen is officially closed. Is it the fear of COVID ? I miss your courses and Roberts home made beer tastings so much.
    Cheers Roscoe

The final straw was Covid, also the fact that insurance became prohibitively high. We really enjoyed your company Roscoe. Sometimes I think I’d like to start the school up again, but time will tell if that will come to fruition. It’s unlikely unfortunately.
