Pizza Day leftovers = pizza pockets

As is customary here, l kind of overestimated the amount of toppings needed for the pizzas last Saturday.

I hate to waste anything so heated a little olive oil and sauteed the leftover toppings together (except the pineapple of course, that went into a cake).

In the mix were onion, ham, bacon, salami, mushrooms, roasted peppers and lots of chopped fresh herbs.

The resulting mixture I have to say, was delicious.

This morning I made a two cup batch of bread dough.

With these filled buns were made, served as an accompaniment to rich spicy pumpkin soup that used up leftover almond milk.

What do you know! Now there are leftover buns. Hopefully a neighbour or two will call in so they can enjoy some too.
