We picked almost 15kg gooseberries, from just 3 bushes. It’s a must to get them into jars quickly.

First – top and tail them. I didn’t do this last year and the result was infinity inferior.

Just as well the man of the house doesn’t mind lending a hand. Actually, he did all but a few, a mammoth task.

This is the first batch, almost ready to go into the preserver.

There are still enough gooseberries for another few jars. That leaves us an hour or so to top and tail the rest.
