Garden harvest buns

Each morning first chore of the day is to go over to feed the chickens, ducks and Cilla the pig of course.

On the way back, half an hour’s weeding in the vegetable garden, always time well spent as I can also harvest any produce to use in each day’s cooking.

Today it was celery tops, lovely tender beans, rainbow chard, silver beet, spring onions, garlic and parsley.

I needed to bake bread, so added an extra cup or two of flour to the mix to potentially make some rolls for lunch.

The pickings from the garden – I made that into a tasty (very green and healthy) filling for those rolls by just adding some feta, a little Parmesan and a splash of homemade Worcestershire sauce.

The eggs collected yesterday – seemed like a good idea to split the fresh baked rolls and place a poached egg inside.

Oh yum. Definitely a good lunch or brunch dish.
