Summer harvest – mulberries, nectarines, basil and zucchini

Another busy day in the kitchen yesterday.

Mulberries, that generous gift from a friend, made its way to mulberry cordial syrup. In my opinion it is the absolute best of the best of cordial syrups.

Nectarines purchased the day before, organically grown, were stewed to be frozen, as well as a small batch of jam.

Early afternoon – a friend brought in a surprise and most welcome gift of a box of fresh picked greengages, now bottled.

There was another batch of pesto made, and kilos of zucchini grated and frozen.

Well I guess we won’t be going hungry this winter!

Preserving is simply wonderful on so many levels! If ever there was any doubt, one sip of that mulberry cordial would change your mind in an instant.
