Now things don’t alway go according to plan. This is what greeted us in the cooking school this morning, accompanied by a heady beer aroma’d blackberry puddle on the bench.
Whoever said less is more? I don’t tend to agree normally, but maybe in this instance they have a point. We doubled the blackberry juice concentrate (from the carefully calculated raspberry beer formula) because, thought I, that more can only be better.
However, it seems the yeast is having a feast on all that sucrose, getting quite carried away.
Hours later it’s still frothing over merrily. It’s kind of pretty, even if a bit smelly. It will be interesting to see how this beer turns out in the end.
