Gooseberries and Rhubarb and annoying beetles

Time for a little preserving this morning – gooseberries and rhubarb.

Those horrid green little green scarab beetles are back, this time in the thousands, quite literally. The olive oil spray worked well, but now there’s simply too many.

They are devouring the raspberry canes and it won’t be long before they start on the rhubarb plants (we know this from their last invasion a couple of years ago).

So it’s into the jars with anything and everything we can harvest.

Never mind, at least there’s something to preserve.

Best we see to the jostaberries before the day is out.
