Marble cake for the morning tea platter for friends.
I love marble cake – as it’s cut each slice is a revelation with its individual patterning.



Extra flavour was added with a little jam in the pink, lemon rind in the white and of course extra chocolate in the remaining batter.
Obsessed with flavour as I am, I poured a little cherry cordial syrup into the pink butter icing. That didn’t work out too well, made it curdle a bit and hard to pipe.
Never mind, you live and learn, won’t do that again. Maybe just the rose pink colouring will have to suffice.
