Some time ago I posted about my 3 broken down preservers, apparently beyond repair.
Since then there’s been a turn of events for the better.
A lovely lady (Rosie) gave me a very special old electric preserver gifted to her by her Auntie Veenie. It’s a much loved family heirloom, a grand old dame of preserving outfits, and came with all its original tools and instruction booklet, not to mention a box of perfect size 20 jars. Rosie herself had used this preserver for many years.
A few weeks before I was able to purchase a never-used electric preserver, still in its box with 53 Fowlers jars, all for $180 (thanks Mandy).
A lovely friend lent me her brand new stainless steel preserver. (Thanks Liz)
Then those 3 broken down preservers? A friend of a friend (an electrician) was able to repair them all. Thanks Maurice and Bill.
Do I have too many preservers? See the last photo – the apple harvest is just in. While some are for cider, many are destined to be preserved.
The Molesworth Preservers Circle is growing too, so all of these will be put to good use in the weeks, months and seasons to come. There’s nothing better than preserving with friends.

Hi Sally
Is the Molesworth Preserving Group a private one, which I assume it is with you and your friends. If not I am most assuredly putting my hand up for consideration as an enthusiastic member.
