It’s been a while since I put up a post. It’s not that baking hasn’t been happening (perish rhe thought) but the oven in the house isn’t working at the moment. We are waiting for a part to arrive.
This means traipsing up to the ovens in the (ex) cooking school space to do all the baking. It gets a bit tedious I can tell you and I always leave my phone to take a photo in the building I don’t happen to be in.
Anyway, a few days ago things became slightly more organised.
There’s a batch of quince jelly in the making, plus green tomato sauce and even a batch of Anzacs on the go.
Oh yes, and man of the house has just decanted his somewhat experimental pear (with just a touch of apple) cider.
Apples have been preserved too, diced for use in future pies, tarts, slices and cakes.
All the produce has been gifted to us by very generous friends, so our pantry is looking very healthy.
