Last weekend was an exciting and busy one here on the farm.
We had been asked about catering for a small function for about 35 people, a High Tea in fact.
This function, arranged by her daughter, was to mark the 80th birthday of Marlene. Her 8 teenage (and slightly older) grandchildren were to come and participate in a cooking class, for several hours preparing tiny bite sized treats for the high tea spread, to be served on the lawns here in the afternoon, along with a range of sparkling fruit drinks, and tea and coffee of course.
The class in the morning turned out to be great fun, for Stephanie and I at least, and we hope for the young people too. By two thirty when the high tea was served, there was more food and drink that could possibly be consumed by those who attended, all credit to the young people who prepared it.
So laden with containers of leftovers the high tea attenders left for home, watched sadly as they departed by our old beagle Della, who had very much enjoyed their company, adding to her already over-ample frame.
Here are some photos that show the fun and food we enjoyed that day.
