Ooops! The blackcurrant beer was a bit enthusiastic overnight it seems. This is the sight that greeted us in the cooking school kitchen just now.
This has happened once before, with raspberry beer a few years ago, but thankfully there was no detriment to the finished product.
Cleaned up and settled and under control once more, it’s now bubbling away in a more sedate fashion.
Neglected to mention – if you are making pickled walnuts, be sure to use an old plate to weight them down during the brining process. Otherwise you will end up with a permanently patterned platter – like this one.
