Dining on Mince and Slices of Quince

So where’s a runcible spoon when you need it?? We were to dine on mince and slices of quince after all.

Roasted some quince slices in Hester BBO today. They were perfect to serve with a pre-dinner wine. The accompaniments were fresh made labna sprinkled with chives, and slices of the pumpernickel bread I made a day or two ago.

The mince? I had some leftover curried mince that was easily and quickly turned into meat pies.

The only thing missing from our dinner was eating with that runcible spoon.

(For those who have not come across this term, it is mentioned in the most wonderful of all children’s poems, by Edward Lear, The Owl and the Pussycat).
