Too tired (and fearful of Huntsman spiders) to walk out to the cooking school to get a piece of muslin to cover the jar, and no coffee filters or Chux in the house, so a doily will have to do until morning.

No self respecting or sensible vinegar fly would be out in this extreme cold anyway.
