A couple of weeks ago at the Banjo’s New Norfolk Market I tasted a slice of traditional Lebanese Harissa cake for the first time. It was absolutely delicious.
I’ve not been able to get there since, so today I just had to try to make one of my own. (Here it is, fresh from the oven and glistening with rosewater and lemon syrup poured over.)
I’m sure it won’t be as good as the one I tasted that Saturday, but it will have to suffice until I can get back to the market again to buy another piece.
