In the spirit of “Here’s some we prepared earlier”, these jars of preserved fruit were standing at the ready for take home bags for participants in the Bottling Fruits of the Season class yesterday.

(More of all of these were prepared during the class.)
The best of the best fresh local produce preserved by the waterbath method – Moor Park apricots, greengages, rhubarb and tomatoes, all held in suspended animation for at least a year.
There are also jars of spiced cherries, preserved in a spiced vinegar/sugar solution, delicious. Colourful, tasty and very practical additions to the pantry shelves
Today’s plan – more preserving. Love this time of year!
