Wintery day baking

Another foggy (and blissfully rainy) day.

The electric oven in the house is still broken down but that matters not one jot. It just means that the wood heater’s oven is getting a thorough workout.

First this morning, a platter of cream buns for the Custard Club’s morning tea.

These were closely followed by a loaf of bread and a couple of floury baps to be filled with salad for lunch.

It’s not done yet. With visitors coming for dinner, there will be laksa made on the cooktop and an Indian spiced roast chicken in the oven.

Apple strudel for dessert – all cooked with no electrity whatsoever.

I really, really love this heater/oven (Gourmet cooker)
