No issue that the house electric oven still isn’t working.

The wood heater’s oven always performs beautifully.

Venison pies browned exceptionally well, both bases and tops.

Vegetable accompaniments were cooked on its cooktop.

Just in case anyone wanted more to eat, a fresh loaf of bread and large dinner rolls were also baked.

They weren’t needed, with everyone too full to even eat a dessert, just a cuppa and a cookie or two was all they could manage.
