Funny the things you remember. Looking for a sweet treat to take to the Wednesday morning tea, I recalled a recipe given to me about 30 years ago. I remember its being hand written in the old family Red Book, as we call it.
The recipe? Jill’s Apple Cake. It was a good way to use up some apples, very easy and turned out to be every bit as delicious as Jill had said.
Tried it as a 20cm cake, then for the morning tea, a small baking dish size, served in generous squares with great dollopings of warm egg custard.
Very well received as it was, it now will be a regular family favourite.
So thanks again to Jill for sharing, back so long ago, in the cooking class at West Moonah Neighbourhood Centre!
